Introduction
Welcome to this workbook designed to help you lay secure foundations in your Christian faith. Over the next 30 minutes, you will engage with Scripture readings, reflections, and actionable steps to deepen your relationship with God. Let's embark on this journey together!
Part 1: Opening Prayer
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for today. Thank You for Your loving kindness, goodness, and grace. As we seek to abide in You, cleanse and sanctify us through Your Word. Help us to present ourselves as living sacrifices, and guide us as we lay our worries at Your feet. Amen.
Part 2: Scripture Reading
Scripture Passage: 2 Peter 1:1-11 (NKJV)
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,
to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,
to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For he who lacks these things is short-sighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Part 3: Reflection Questions
Take a moment to reflect on the following questions:
What does it mean to you to be called a "bondservant" of Christ?
Reflect on your commitment and service to Jesus.
How do you understand the concept of "knowledge" as mentioned in this passage?
Consider both the academic and relational aspects of knowing God.
In which areas of your life do you feel called to grow in virtue, knowledge, or self-control?
Identify specific areas where you can improve.
Part 4: Action Points
Choose at least two action points to focus on this week:
Daily Scripture Reading: Set aside 10 minutes each day to read and meditate on a passage from the Bible. Consider using 2 Peter 1:1-11 as your guide.
Journaling: Write down your thoughts about what you learn each day. How does this shape your understanding of faith?
Pray for Insight: Each day, ask God to reveal Himself to you through both Scripture and personal experiences.
Share with a Friend: Find a friend to discuss your reflections and insights. Encourage each other in your faith journeys.
Part 5: Closing Prayer
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to know You deeply and personally. May our experiences align with Your Word, and may we grow in knowledge and virtue. Guide us in our actions this week, and help us to support one another in our journeys. Amen.
Conclusion
Thank you for taking the time to engage with this workbook. May your faith continue to grow as you seek to know God more intimately. Remember, this is just the beginning of a lifelong journey in Christ!
