Session Overview (30 minutes)

  1. Opening Prayer (5 minutes)

  2. Scripture Reading (10 minutes)

  3. Reflection (10 minutes)

  4. Action Points (5 minutes)

1. Opening Prayer (5 minutes)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your beautiful presence with us today. We seek Your Holy Spirit to guide us as we explore Your Kingdom. Help us understand and live out Your will in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

2. Scripture Reading (10 minutes)

Read Matthew 6:25-33 (ESV)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

3. Reflection (10 minutes)

Reflection Questions:

  1. Understanding the Kingdom:

    • What does it mean to "seek first the Kingdom of God" in your daily life?

    • How do you perceive the difference between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world?

  2. Anxiety and Faith:

    • Reflect on your current anxieties. Are they indicators of where you are focusing your thoughts? How can you shift your focus toward God's provision?

  3. The Role of Jesus:

    • How does knowing Jesus as the King of the Kingdom influence your understanding of His teachings in Matthew 5-7?

Take a moment to journal your thoughts on these questions.

4. Action Points (5 minutes)

Practical Steps:

  1. Daily Prayer:

    • Commit to starting each day with a prayer, asking God to help you seek His Kingdom first.

  2. Mindful Moments:

    • When you feel anxious this week, pause and remind yourself of Matthew 6:33. Redirect your thoughts to God’s promises.

  3. Scripture Engagement:

    • Choose one verse from Matthew 6 (or another passage about the Kingdom) to memorize this week. Write it down and place it where you can see it daily.

Closing Thoughts

Remember that seeking the Kingdom of God is an ongoing journey. Each step you take toward understanding His ways and aligning your life with His principles brings you closer to the fullness of life that He offers.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for guiding us in our journey to seek Your Kingdom. Help us to live out these principles daily and draw closer to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
