Introduction

This workbook is designed to help you deepen your understanding of self-control as a fruit of the Spirit and integrate it into your daily life. Through scripture readings, reflections, and actionable steps, you will be guided in cultivating a strong foundation in your Christian faith.

Session Duration: 30 Minutes

Session Outline

1. Opening Prayer (5 minutes)

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your presence, peace, and loving-kindness. Help us to grow in our understanding of You and to reflect Your glory in our lives. Amen.

2. Scripture Reading (10 minutes)

Key Scripture: 2 Peter 1:5-11 (NIV)

“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Additional Scriptures:

  • Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV): "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."

  • 1 Timothy 1:7 (NIV): "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline."
